A diary in a time warp

Primarily a record of two very happy years working in Wanganui and travelling in both islands, together with a relatively brief trip to Australia, and the outward and return journeys mainly by sea. This is really a photo-diary in a time-warp. It was actually written in 1966, immediately after returning from New Zealand. The majority of the photographs are from my own slides, taken in 1964 and 1965, which amazingly, have survived and can now be reproduced with the help of modern technology.

New Zealand – a magnificent and fascinating country, still young, forward-looking and relatively empty; yet full of opportunities and offering a way of life that is both peaceful and contentedly secure. If one appreciates an active, outdoor life and a wealth of history, legend and geo-thermal wonders, all set against incredibly beautiful contrasting scenery, New Zealand is indeed a land of exceptional promise.

An affectionate update

Betty passed away on Tuesday 6th May 2008 aged 73 years. I decided to revisit her book and arrange it for ebook publishing. I have included only a few of her photographs for the ebook to be a good size.
