Gas-guzzling aliens unite! (And save the universe too...)

When a little round space ship crashlands on earth amid a cloud of smelly green gas, Harry Higgenbottom and his family's domestic robot, B.A.D. are flummoxed. Well, actually they're gassed, and then flummoxed! It turns out their unexpected visitor is a Spogladyte from Planet B6341H somewhere out there (out there being a very long way out there),and he's only landed on planet earth by accident. But... as he's here and Planet earth seems to have a bit of a problem with greenhouse gases and the like currently, if they help him maybe he could help them in return, Harry suggests. 'Absolutely!' the Spogladyte agrees. After all, he is a gas-guzzler and gas guzzlers's LOVE toxic gases.

There's only one problem for Harry. Or maybe a few... In order to get the Spogladyte back up out of the earth's atmosphere so he can guzzle the greenhouse gases and then escape, he and B.A.D. Robot are going to have to fix the space-ship first AND find plenty of earthbound gases for the Spogladyte to eat in the meantime, AND hide him from Mum and Dad Higgenbottom, AND finish that math's homework before Harry gets a detention...

It's tough saving the planet with an alien. But then finding missing angles in rectangles is often harder...

The Ali En and B.A.D. Robot series are whacky science-based wildly imaginative and funny stories aimed at 7-11 year olds, with the added addition of some really COOOL science-fact in the appendices at the back. Whoever thought learning could be such laugh-out-loud fun?
